Trinity Gaels Club Gym
Trinity Gaels has been serving the Gaelic Games needs of the community and parish of Holy Trinity and its environs since 1975. Throughout this time, we have continuously endeavoured to grow the club facilities to meet the specific demands of our playing members and to help them achieve their goals in our sports. In recent years that has manifested itself in the Club’s Development Plan in which we have outlined the Club’s facilities ambitions. Stage one of the plan saw the instalment of the Ball Wall, a major success in providing a key training facility for both hurling and football.
August 2022 sees the Club break ground on stage two of the Development Plan, the Club Gym. This ambitious step forward will see a new gym built beside the clubhouse in Drumnigh that will provide fundamental and advanced training equipment for all our members athletic development and S&C needs. After a meticulous research and planning effort we have arrived at a design that we feel fully fits the broad array of our club members’ need. This best-in-class facility has the following features:
- 21m x 7m floor space
- Situated beside the clubhouse allows members to easily avail of existing changing rooms and showers
- Fully equipped with modern day S&C equipment
- Large training floor for group training sessions
The gym design and layout is modelled on a number of existing GAA club facilities around the county. Below are some images taken during our site visits and are indicative of what our gym will look like.
The construction timeline will see the building completed and fitted out for December 2022 with an overall projected cost of €110,000.00. The funding model we have put in place is based on our successful Sports Capital Grant application, which saw the Club awarded a grant of €85,000.00 for the project. The remaining €25,000.00 needs to be raised through the Club Members fundraising efforts.
With the above in mind the Club’s Executive Committee has canvassed our membership on how best to meet our €25,000.00 fundraising goal. After careful consideration we have elected to bring forward the Buy-a-Brick fundraiser initiative.
