Our Coaching Framework

As a club Trinity Gaels believes in an inclusive approach to our juvenile games, underpinned by a fun and participation based coaching framework. This framework covers all aspects of juvenile coaching in the club from Grasshoppers to Minor, covering everything from planning a session to striking a ball. Our goal is to ensure that our children are provided with the best we can offer, and a collaborative coaching framework provides us with a platform to achieve this.

Our club also understands the commitments made by our volunteer coaches and in turn we are committed to providing them with the help they need to get the most out of their time with our teams. While coaching can be a very rewarding and enjoyable experience, our club recognises that a helping hand is always welcome.

We also appreciate that an important part of coaching is understanding what is appropriate content for the relevant age group, as well as what is relevant to the individual child. With this is mind Trinity Gaels has a clearly defined Player Pathway based on the TURAS Coaching Program that helps our coaches tailor content for their teams.

The Framework contains sections for each of the playing age groups of our teams. Each section is then broken out into the following three general categories:

    • Skill Games to Practise
    • Games Based Activities
    • Athletic Development

All activities have a level tag to allow coaches to determine what is applicable to their group and allow them to scale the difficulty level appropriately.
